Engineering high-performing inclusive teams training course

Spot and address barriers, reduce bias, and build stronger engineering teams

26 November 2026
Virtual online

About the training course

During this one day course, participants will examine how everyday actions, informal practices, and team dynamics affect who is heard, supported, and able to perform at their best.

Using real STEM workplace scenarios, the course helps teams move beyond awareness to understand what inclusive behaviours looks like in practice – and how it directly impacts collaboration, retention, performance, and decision-making.

The session takes a problem-solving approach familiar to STEM professionals, applying it to people and workplace culture.

Participants will learn how to identify barriers that limit, contribution, recognise where bias shows up in routine interactions, and take specific, actions that improve team effectiveness and cohesion.

Small, everyday behaviours shape who contributes, who progresses, and how well teams perform.

Without practical skills, inclusion efforts often remain inconsistent, leading to:

  • missed ideas and reduced innovation,
  • uneven participation in teams,
  • lower engagement and retention.

This course helps organisations turn inclusion into a practical capability that supports stronger performance and better business outcomes.

Who should attend?

  • Team leaders and managers looking to improve team performance, engagement and decision-making
  • STEM professionals who want practical ways to contribute to more effective, inclusive teams
  • HR and EDI practitioners seeking actionable tools that go beyond awareness and deliver behaviour change.

This course links to section E of the Engineering Council’s UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC).
